If you or someone you know need a safe place to sleep that is warm, dry and clean our emergency shelter offers 122 beds for men and 26 beds for women. Our residents are supported by 24 hour staff. While you stay with us we provide three nutritious meals a day, clothing and laundry facilities. Referrals for advocacy and counselling can be arranged as needed. Chaplain’s offices are located on the residential floors to provide Spiritual Care through prayer, discipleship and mentoring. All residents are invited to attend our Community Chapel Services held here on Sundays and Wednesdays at 4:00 pm.
Youth from the ages of 16 and up can be accommodated in our emergency shelter and are separated from the adult population. We have specialized staff that are trained in working with youth as well as a chaplain who focuses on youth related activities and programs like basketball, hockey, music and other initiatives.
Once an individual is registered in an emergency bed they may request to be put on the waiting list for a private room.
The Centre of Hope has private rooms for men and private rooms for women. Private rooms are available for up to one year on a pay to stay basis.
Currently our private rooms are at capacity and unavailable.
Hope to Hopes Program
Programs are in place that assist clients in our shelter to further their opportunity for housing within the community. Our Resource Rooms for Men, Women and Couples provide access to telephones, computers and staff support for clients to find suitable and affordable housing. CMHA is in the Resource rooms throughout the week to assist our clients with mental health issues in finding suitable housing.
Once a client is prepared to leave The Centre of Hope and transition to their new home, they are given the opportunity to visit our Hope to Homes Program to choose the items they need to start up. This can include bedding, dishes, cutlery, pillows, cleaning supplies in addition to groceries.
