Emergency Shelter for Adults

Our Emergency Shelter offers 82 beds for men and 40 beds for women. Our beds are available on a first come, first served basis, and are available for individuals 16 years of age or older. Our clients are supported by 24-hour staff who provide assistance with housing searches, basic needs, and referrals to community resources as needed. While staying, clients are encouraged to pursue housing searches with the goal to secure permanent housing.

Spiritual Care

Chaplain’s offices are located on the main floor to provide Spiritual Care through prayer, discipleship and mentoring for our clients. To help reduce the spread of Covid-19, community Chapel services have been cancelled at this time.

Transitional Housing

The Centre of Hope has 70 transitional rooms for men and women. Transitional rooms are available for a maximum stay of 1 year on a pay to stay basis. Transitional rooms come with their own bed, desk, armoire, and washroom with a shower. Individuals experiencing homelessness may apply for a transitional room by filling out and submitting an application form. We also accept agency referrals. What is the difference between the Emergency Shelter and Recovery living?

 

Recovery Living, which is part of The Recovery Community Centre, offers an affordable housing option within a therapeutic recovery focused community.
The Emergency Shelter is an emergency short term option for all those who do not have a place to live, being a temporary solution for men, women, and youth who are experiencing homelessness. There are 122 beds in the emergency shelter and 70 transition rooms. The transitional rooms are intended as a stabilization space while housing is being pursued and acquired. The transitional rooms are provided on a pay to stay basis for a maximum of 1 year.
